Recently in a discussion about process and protocol, I came upon a circumstance that made me rethink my philosophy about behavioral improvement. I found myself being very judgmental about a decision made which seemed to be in the best interests of all parties but under further examination was simply self-serving and manipulative. Do you find yourself being truly honest about what your real intentions are, or do you justify everything?


The more I thought about it the more I became angry with myself for not recognizing this. We tend to take sides when the best choice is to remain objective. When I made my case for being devil's advocate, I received the response: "We will never agree on this". Sound familiar? What are your thoughts?
